The Big Lunch – Sunday 4th June 2017
The Big Lunch is Coming!!
Parents and children, this fun packed picnic in the Railway Gardens will be held on Sunday 4th June and, as usual, everything will be absolutely free. All you have to do is bring a picnic and relax while the children are entertained by the many sideshows and attractions offered by community organisations. This is an opportunity to make new friends or renew old acquaintances and generally to bring the community together to make Stur an even better place in which to raise a family.
This year we will have the usual attractions including: village stocks; splat the rat; a coconut shy; milk the cow; hoopla; and a treasure hunt. In addition we will again be entertained by the charming Bulgarian Folk Dancers as well as being able to taste some of the Bulgarian food specialities. Added attractions include a limbo dancing stand and a chance to try out stilt walking with Lizzie, and, for those of you who love to dress up, why not come along as your favourite fantasy character?
Home Start North Dorset will be there with their face painting team and, thanks to Southern Co-operative, the Rotary Club Ice cream cart will again be providing free ice creams to all.
And remember, this event is not restricted by age, for those of us who have given up limbo dancing or even bending, the Women’s Institute will be on hand to provide an afternoon tea service in the Stour Hall, where you are able sit, chat and enjoy a cup of tea and a cake while watching the children enjoy themselves. Again this is at no charge.
If you have any questions, or, would love to help in any way, please do contact Jacqui Wragg at SturQuest on 01258 471456.
